Lelo Sila Review: Good Looks With Sonic Stimulation

As we go through this Lelo Sila review, we’ll unlock the secrets of this small but powerful toy from Lelo. Sila is a small and round toy, except at one point, there is a big opening that forms the nozzle of this no-contact vibrator.

Sila is based-off Lelo’s sonic vibration technology. In this setup, the air pulse vibrator presents intense clitoral stimulation, providing stimulation not just on the surface, but going deep into the tissue.

This isn’t a clit-sucking vibrator. Rather, Lelo Sila is an air pulse, or sonic vibrator.

Let’s know about this adult toy.

Features And Design Of The Lelo Sila Unearthed

What’s In The Box?

Lelo Sila box has a wonderful and premium feel. It’s black and has a nice finish. At the bottom of the box, the embossed text reads “Lelo Sila sonic clitoral massager”. Of course, the highlight is the clear plastic window on the box, which shows off the Sila in all its glory.

Once you open the box, you’ll find it contains the following items:

  • Lelo Sila sonic clit massager
  • USB charging cable
  • Warranty card
  • Instruction Manual
  • Satin pouch with a drawstring
  • A tiny sachet of Lelo personal moisturizer (water-based lubricant)

Lelo Sila is available in three colors. These are aqua, pink, and lilac.

Design Notes For Lelo Sila – It’s Just The Tip

Lelo Sila is almost a circle except for the large nozzle jutting out. This nozzle is the highlight of the Sila. It goes right over the clitoris, providing a convenient and generous fit. It’s also fairly soft and feels pretty good against the body.

The parts of the toys that come in contact with the body are coated in high-quality silicone. The choice of materials is good since silicone is non-porous, nontoxic and body safe.

The center of this toy is something of a concentric ring that appears metallic. This part is actually made from ABS plastic, which is a non-porous, nontoxic, and body safe material. Therefore, the overall material and construction quality used for the toy are pretty good.

Yet the key part here is the large and soft nozzle. The premium silicone feels great against the body and its soft touch makes things all the more comfortable. I’d say the feel of this large, perhaps oversized nozzle says a lot about this vibrator.

It’s sized to fit most body types, the soft touch feels great against the body, and the overall ergonomics of placing and controlling the Sila work great. As ergonomics and controls go, Lelo Sila is somewhat similar to the Lelo Ora 3

Apart from the general similarities in shape and button placement, both toys do exceptionally well with ergonomics.

When Lelo Sila is placed in position and on the clit, its three-button control interface faces the user. Plus, the buttons are well-placed, so users can easily reach and manage them without feeling distracted.

The Stimulation Scenario With Sonic Vibrations

Sila from Lelo’s stable of sonic clit massagers, which includes Lelo Sona 2 and Lelo Sona 2 Cruise. Though these look and operate somewhat similar to conventional suction vibrators like the Satisfyer Pro 2, Lelo says the sonic vibrators have a different approach to stimulation.

Rather than directly stimulating the clitoris through suction (as is the case of Satisfyer and Womanizer toys), Lelo’s toys rely on a sonic touch.

Sonic vibrations would employ sound waves doing the job. In my mind, this conjures an image of a vibrator shouting at my clit, which is hilarious and terrifying in equal parts. Yet, it’s not about that kind of sound.

Instead, Lelo’s sonic stimulation should feel similar to the effect of sound waves when you stand close to a speaker going loud. It’s not the sound to consider in this case, but the little thumps the body feels with the beats.

In the case of Lelo Sila, the vibrator uses air to gently tap the clit. This generates waves that go deep into the tissue and provide intense stimulation. So, rather than the action being limited to the surface of the clit, it goes deep into the tissue.

This adds a whole new dimension to the pleasure and often results in very strong and satisfying orgasms. Some even claim to have experienced squirting orgasms when using sonic vibrations.

Though I haven’t had the squirting experience with this toy, I do enjoy the strong and satisfying orgasms it brings.

Lelo Sila Control And Vibration Options

Lelo Sila works off the three button control system that’s common with most Lelo toys. At the center is the “()” button that handles patterns and on its sides are the + and – buttons to handle changes in intensity.

This toy has eight pattern and intensity settings. If you’d like more options here, but with sonic technology, consider the Lelo Sona 2 or Sona 2 Cruise – these toys have 12 vibration modes.

While 12 is nice, I do consider eight to be a good set. There’s enough variety for pleasure, but not so many settings that it feels overwhelming or confusing.

At its lowest setting, Lelo Sila shows off a slow, but enjoyable murmur. As you go higher, the intensity becomes very noticeable. I’d say the higher settings are immensely powerful. On that note, if powerful toys are your thing, you might want to take a look at my selection of the strongest vibrators.

Battery, Recharging, And Waterproofing

The toy draws its power from a 520 mAh Li-ion battery. It takes two hours for the battery to fully charge. Lelo says that you should charge the battery for at least 2 hours for the first charge. Subsequent charges can stop as soon as the battery charges, irrespective of the time.

Charging is handled through a USB cable with a pin-style charger. After connecting the USB port to a power source, you’ll need to push the pin through the charging spot on the Lelo Sila. It works well and is easy enough, though I do hope Lelo joins the ranks of the brands that use magnetic chargers.

Once fully charged, Lelo Sila offers a play time of up to 2 hours. For practical considerations, the playtime is closer to an hour. However, that doesn’t matter much, since you’ll get plenty of fun within this playtime.

Lelo says that the Sila is fully waterproof. You can freely use it in water and even submerge it. This opens quite a few possibilities of play, including in the shower. However, there is a downside here.

Water washes away lubricant, which plays a big role in making this toy all the more fun. So, it’s better to skip the shower play and enjoy Lelo Sila in the comfort of your bedroom.

The biggest benefit of full waterproofing is in cleaning the sex toy. You can wash it under a tap, even submerge it under water to ensure that it’s completely clean.

A Quick Note On Lelo Sila VS Lelo Sila Cruise

Lelo Sila is also available in another variant, which is the Lelo Sila Cruise. Both these toys are identical in all respects, except for the fact that the Lelo Sila Cruise is slightly more expensive, on account of including Lelo’s Cruise Control technology.

Cruise Control is a fairly interesting system that affects how we use the vibrator and what we expect from it. For most of us, as we use a vibrator or toy, we tend to push it closer to the body as the pleasure builds up.

In the case of no-contact and air action vibrators like the Lelo Sila, this means the motor slows down a bit when the toy is pushed closer to the body. It’s only natural, since there’s only so much air it can work with.

With Cruise Control technology, the toy compensates for this reduction in power. It provides more power to the motor, increasing its intensity by up to 20%.

During the use of the vibrator, this bump in power and intensity means that many users may not notice the drop in suction power when the vibrator is pushed against the body. So, the stimulation remains fairly straightforward.

However, there are also those who would prefer that the random boost of Cruise Control rather not show up.

So, you can choose the Lelo Sila or Lelo Sila Cruise depending on how you’d prefer the vibrator to react in a situation like this.

It’s worth mentioning that the Cruise Control system cannot be switched off. So, if you buy the Cruise, the system will be always active when using the toy.

Lelo Sila Usage Impressions And Review

My Impressions Of ‘Quality Time’ With Lelo Sila

Getting a good dose of lubrication opens the doors to a wonderful play time. With a toy like the Lelo Sila, it’s all the more important. Since this is a silicone toy, it’s best to use a water-based lubricant. Apply the lubricant generously to your body as well as the toy.

Now let’s get down to business. I’d say I liked Lelo Sila from the moment it touched my body. The oversized nozzle and the soft silicone surrounding it feel so soft and comfortable against the skin. It definitely makes for a good first touch.

Even at its lowest power setting, I felt the nice and gentle touch of Lelo Sila. It’s not exactly orgasmic at this power, but it has that nice and pleasurable feel.

Playing along with the power and pattern settings, I enjoyed the way Lelo Sila built up pleasure. Interestingly, for me, Lelo Sila’s build up was very similar to its sonic sibling, the Sona. It takes some time to build up before eventually reaching the climax.

On the other side of the spectrum is the Satisfyer Pro 2, which can make me cum quickly. It’s almost like orgasms on demand! I find both these toys to be very enjoyable. Although, I do love the buildup that Sila brings.

I have enjoyed this toy with pretty much all its power and pattern combos. These are the kinds of things I do for the sake of science, and fun, and reviews! I like how it behaves and remains pleasurable throughout the journey.

And when it’s finally time to orgasm, it’s just a wonderful, toe-curling feeling. I could write a love letter to Sila.

I think a lot of this has to do with that nozzle on the Sila. It’s wide, soft, and feels soft and warm against the body. Its first touch feels intimate, rather than feeling mechanical.

Is Lelo Sila Noisy?

Suction toys tend to be on the noisier side of things. So, I’d say there is some noise from Lelo Sila, but I wouldn’t categorize it as noisy. It does feel more subdued than its siblings like the Sona 2, Sona 2 cruise, or similar toys like the rose suction vibrator.

Overall though, if you’re in the privacy of your room and have some background noise going (like a TV or music), it’s very unlikely that any discernible vibrator noise will leave your room.

Conclusion

There is a lot to like about Lelo Sila. I find it performs very well on several counts, including ergonomics, ease of use, and overall build quality. But what I like the most about this vibrator is its nozzle. The wide and soft nozzle does a great job at setting the expectations and comfort for this toy.

It remains pleasurable and comfortable throughout use, and often elicits wonderfully satisfying orgasms. I’m not entirely on board with the price tag, but I do Lelo Sila to be a wonderful toy.
